You can be a part of the country's longest running talent search:  the Texaco Country Showdown, Sunday, July 14, 2pm at the Silverado Inn, Marginal Road in Herkimer. The competition is open to solo performers, instrumentalists or groups.

Local celebrity judges will rate the competitors. Judges include Assemblyman Marc Butler, Fulton Chain Gang's Dave Brown, 97.9/105.5 KISS-FM's Big Poppa Gary Spears, and Justin Smithson from the band Showtime.

Public admission (non-competitors) is $6 or 2 for $10 and includes FREE food! Proceeds benefit HALO, helping Animals Live Organization.  

The Bug Country winner will move on to the NY State competition in August; the state winner goes to national competition with a top prize of $100,000!!

Friday, July 19, 6pm: Come doo the Doo Dah! Bug Country will be in the annual Ilion Doo Dah Parade. It's a big one!

Bug Country is sponsoring the Diabetes Association's annual "Step Out Walk to Stop Diabetes," October 19 at Green Lakes State Park in Fayetteville. This is the walk for the Utica & Syracuse areas so it's a big one!

Dave Silvers & his wife Sandy have formed a team and will be walking. Sandy has taken a positive, proactive approach to managing her diabetes, ever since being diagnosed last August. She is doing great! Please consider joining our team or donating.
