Country Showdown

Can you sing?
Do you know someone who can sing?

Bug Country 99.7 & 101.1 is once again putting on the local portion of the longest running and largest talent contest in the country -- the Country Showdown. Now in its 33rd year, the event will be held at the Herkimer County Fair, Sunday, August 17th at 1:00pm. The Rollin' South Band from Syracuse, New York State's rockin' country band, will open the festivities with a set of great country music, and provide sound for the afternoon. The event is sponsored by Clinton Tractor, Route 12B, in Clinton and Pohl's Feed, 4560 Verona Street, Vernon.

The Country Showdown winner receives $500 and moves on to the state competition - which has a $1,000 top prize! Next is the Regional Competition; winners then vie for the national prize of $100,000 on CMT Television!

The competition is open to singers, instrumentalists and bands and has a $20 entry fee, which goes directly to the Country Showdown organization.  Entrants will receive free admission to the Fair.

IF YOU'LL BE SINGING TO SOME SORT OF BACKGROUND MUSIC, IT MUST BE BROUGHT WITH YOU ON AN MP3 PLAYER OR PHONE.  WE WILL NOT BE ABLE TO PLAY CDs.

If you’re interested in being a part of this exciting competition, download an entry form here: Country Showdown Form and mail it with your $20 entry fee (cash or money order, payable to SPI) to Bug Country Showdown, 185 Genesee Street, Suite 1601, Utica, NY 13501 or drop it off at our office. Entry deadline is August 14th.
