Garage Sale and Bottle and Can Drive

From 10:00AM to 4:00PM

The Herkimer County Humane Society is having a Garage Sale and bottle and can drive at the shelter on Route 5S in Mohawk. There will be new and used items for sale and a 50/50 raffle. If you would like to donate items call 520-31-12 for more information.

The Mohawk Valley Collective’s “Standing Strong:River Through Time” benefit is at Haslett Park in Fort Plain. There will be music, kids activities, raffles and a chicken bar-b-que. Proceeds from the event will go to the Victorius Life Church in Fort Plain which is collecting money for a roof repair.

Perth Vol Fire Co 70th Ann Celebration

PERTH VOLUNTEER FIRE COMPANY CELEBRATES ITS 70TH ANNIVERSARY! The Perth Volunteer Fire Company will be celebrating its 70th Anniversary on August 8th, 2015 starting off with a parade at 11am on State Highway 30. After the parade there will be vendors, a cruise in, food, music and fireworks at dusk. The John Deere Green Band will perform at 1pm. The Knewz Polka Band from Buffalo, NY will be performing at 3pm. Then at 8pm True Grit Outlaws will be on stage. The donation for the music event is $7.00 per person

MVCs "Standing Strong: River Through Time" benefit

The Mohawk Valley Collective is hosting FREE outdoor concerts by Cosby Gibson & Tom Staudle, Stone Soup, Spike & the Boys, & Jocelyn Arndt in Fort Plain's Haslett Park. Also featured are raffles with fabulous prizes including a Trek 8.2 hybrid bicycle valued at $520, an Old Town kayak with oar and life jacket ($500), and a hunting blind; Frankie’s chicken barbecue; a dunking booth; face painting; kids’ activities; & more. Proceeds go to the Victorious Life Church in Fort Plain for roof repair project. Call 518-275-3606 or 518-993-5506 for more information. Funding for 2015 programs and the River Through Time event has been made possible, in part, through grants by the Erie Canalway National Heritage Corridor, the NYS Canal Corporation, and additional funding from the Montgomery County Occupancy Tax administered by the Montgomery County Legislature. Also partnering in support of the concert programming is the Erie Station Bar & Grill of Fort Plain, which is catering the events, and WEXT-97.7 FM. The non-profit MVC has the mission of supporting arts and cultural events in Montgomery County. It is also dedicated to the restoration and adaptive reuse of Unity Hall and another of the area's historic architectural gems, the former West Hill School in Canajoharie.
