Civil War Era Reburial

The Town of Leyden, Lewis County Historical Society, Talcottville Cemetery Assn., and the Walter H. French Sons of Union Civil War Veterans are sponsoring a reburial for Mr. & Mrs. Elisha Woodcock, at the Talcottville Cemetery on Rte. 12d, Talcottville. There will be Civil War re-enactors present as well to help honor and show support for the service Mr. Woodcock gave to our country while serving in the 97th Infantry unit in the Civil War. Antique Gas Engine & Tractor Show

The 38th annual antique gas engine & tractor show is July 11th & 12th, at historic Schoharie Crossing in Fort Hunter. See old engines, tractors, water pumps & more. There’s horse-drawn wagon rides, crafters, music and food, with FREE admission!

MADISON COUNTY FAIR

It’s that time of the year again, the Madison County Fair is back, Thursday July 9th through Sunday the 12th at the Madison County Fairgrounds in Brookfield, and this year we are starting it off right, with a performance by national duo recording artists, Montgomery Gentry! Get your fill of mechanical mayhem at the King’s Smashem’ Crashem’ Demolition Derby & Rollover Contest Saturday at 6pm. And Sunday, don’t miss the huge Tractor Pull! Mike Doughty/Ross Cashiola to perform

American indie/alternative rock performer Mike Doughty, former frontman of the 1990s group Soul Coughing, and artist/songwriter Ross Cashiola of Hotel Brotherhood will present solo performances at Fort Plain’s Historic Unity Hall, at the site of the former Universalist Church at 19 Center St..
