From 6:00PM to 7:00PM

The first week of June (1-7) is National CPR Awareness week. In honor of this important week, Slocum Dickson is teaming up with the American Heart Association to host a free community Hands-Only CPR training class. The class will be held on Wednesday June 3, at Slocum Dickson Medical Group, 1729 Burrstone Road in New Hartford. Participants can choose from two times 6:00pm or 6:30pm. The class will be conducted by American Heart Association Hands-Only CPR trainers. The class is free and open to the public. Please sign up by calling 798-1885. Hands-Only CPR is a technique that does not involve any mouth to mouth contact. Although it is different from traditional CPR, it still has the potential to save a life. According to the American Heart Association, 90 percent of people who suffer out-of-hospital cardiac arrests die. CPR, especially if performed immediately, can double or triple a cardiac arrest victim’s chance of survival.

7:00PM

The Fulton Montgomery Regional Chamber of Commerce will host its annual Sports Award Banquet 7 at the Holiday Inn, 308 NorthComrie Ave in Johnstown. The keynote speaker will be Jim Johnson, coach of the Greece Athena high School basketball team. Tickets are $25 and available at the Chamber’s Gloversville office or at the Holiday Inn, Johnstown.

St. Lukes Home is holding a job fair in the Community Room at 1650 Champlin Ave, New Hartford. There are openings for daytime and evening RN’s, night LPN’s, CNA’s and an RN supervisory position.

The Parkway Center will be hosting its 2nd Annual Carmen Guarnieri Pro/Am Art & Artisan Auction. The auction will be part live and part silent and will feature work from local artists and artisans.
