D.A.R.E 5k Fun Run and Junior Run

Bug Country and D.A.R.E are holding the 19th annual D.A.R.E 5k Run and Junior Fun Run. Both runs will begin and end in front of the Historic Herkimer County Jail. The Jr. Fun Run will commence at 8:30am. The 5k run will commence at 9:15am. Pre-registration fees: Adult Run $20.00, Jr. Run $10.00, Teams with four members and families with three or more runners will be $16.00 per person. Any registration not received by August 11th : Adult $25.00, Jr. Fun Run $15.00, Teams and family’s will be $20.00 per person. T-shirt handout and registration will begin at 7:15 am the day of the race. Shirts will be given to the first 200 registered runners. USA Luge Slider Search

The USA Luge Slider Search is returning to Utica from 9am to Noon or from 2pm to 5pm on Cornelia Street between Court and Columbia Streets. This FREE event is open to all children ages 9 to 13. This is USA Luge’s main recruiting effort and Remsen native and 2014 Olympic Bronze medal winner, Erin Hamlin was found in a Slider Search.

Latino American Festival in Hanna Park

Come on out for the 9th annual Latino American Festival at Hanna Park in Utica. The event will feature great food and festivities including a dominoes tournament and pageant and talent shows! Plus plenty of dancers and vendors.

Blues Night in Salt Springville

Come hear an evening of blues music under the stars as Salt Springville is holding its 2nd annual blues night at the Dutch windfall barn. The evening starts at 5 with free admission and free camping ONSITE. There will be 7 bands at the venue such as the Saratoga AllStars, the rusty doves, Diz, and other special guests.

Book Drive in Utica

In honor of National Health Center Week the Kiwanis Club of Utica is holding a Summer Book Drive and is collecting books to be donated to the Utica Community Health Center. New books are preferred but gently used books in good shape will be accepted. Drop Off Locations: Mohawk Valley Perinatal Network at 1000 Cornelia Street in Utica or The Utica Community Health Center at 1651 Oneida Street in Utica.
