Adolescent Drug Trends Workshop
The Oneida County Professional Training Coalition and Center for Family Life & Recovery, Inc. will be presenting an educational workshop by Gary Bulinski, Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) entitled “Adolescent Drug trends – An Overview” at Hart’s Hill Inn, Whitesboro, NY (Sponsored by the Oneida County Department of Mental Health). This workshop will take place from 9:00am - 4:00pm, with registration beginning at 8:30am. The cost is $25.00 per participant, which includes morning coffee set-up, lunch & program materials. Seafood & Fish Dinners in Holland Patent
American Legion post 161 in Holland Patent is serving delicious seafood and fish dinners; featuring fresh haddock, broiled scallops, broiled fish and more every Friday through November 22nd. The dinner includes a "super salad bar", children are half price. The proceeds will benefit children and youth programs as well as building and equipment improvements. The Stittville Fire department is putting on a haunted trail October 18-26. It's a quarter mile trail. Tempt your fate with the ghouls and demons. Refreshments available after the trail. “Ghosts of the Past” Walking Tours at Green Hill Cemetery in Amsterdam.
Do you have the courage to walk the historic Green Hill Cemetery in the dark? Are you interested in learning more about the people who lived in Amsterdam in the 19th and early 20th centuries - and may have decided to stay around and keep a watchful eye on their city?
Tours start at Amsterdam City Hall, 61 Church Street, where parking will be available and ticket holders will check in and receive a voucher with their tour time. The tour assignments are on a first come, first served basis so please plan to arrive early. “Ghosts of the Past” Tours will begin promptly at 6:00 P.M. with a new tour departing approximately every 20 minutes until 8:00 P.M. and will last approximately 45 minutes. Sturdy walking shoes are recommended as the tour will be over uneven ground in Green Hill Cemetery. While you’re waiting for your tour, or after your return, there will be plenty to do at City Hall. There will be ghostly stories to listen to, a palm reader, psychics, and free refreshments.

Utica Ukrainian Festival
Every October, St. Volodymyr the Great Ukrainian Catholic Church looks forward to showcasing all that its people have to offer. The church's Ukrainian Festival kicks off at the church's adjoining auditorium on Cottage Place in Utica.The event will feature two Ukrainian dance groups from Syracuse and Binghamton, and a Ukrainian singing band from Rochester, as well as arts and crafts, cultural exhibits, games of chance, and raffles.

10th Annual MVLA Gala Fundraiser
Mohawk Valley Latino Association is pleased to announce the 10th Annual Gala Fundraiser event. Each year we celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month from September 15th to October 15th. During this time the annual Gala Night is to give community members the opportunity to celebrate with great food, dancing, show and a pleasurable atmosphere; all while participating in aspects of Hispanic culture. This year we will be having live entertainment by “Ramon Orlando & Orchestra” from the Dominican Republic, and will delight our dancing feet with salsa, bachata and merengue music, and of course our very own, DJ Kel from Utica.
