All Day BACK TO SCHOOL BASH The Fort Plain Central PTA is planning on hosting a Back to School Bash at Wiles Park. Our hope for the event is to give the residents/students of Fort Plain a night of FREE family fun before the school year begins and a place where parents can sign up to receive help with school supplies. rnOur plans for the night include:rn• Food: FREE hot dog and/or hamburger, drink, side, popcorn, cotton candyrn• Activities: FREE baseball, soccer, volleyball, sack races, ladder ball, DJ and a clownrn
10:00AM 12:00PM Seniors Resource Fair A Seniors Resource Fair will be held at the Arkell Museum in Canajoharie. The purpose of the event is to connect senior citizens with resources available to them in the community. We will have a variety of vendors and not-for-profit organizations on hand to provide information. Confirmed attendees include Montgomery County Public Health, Social Services (for HEAP, SNAP - formerly food stamps, and Adult Protective Services), the VA, Alzheimer's Association, Montgomery County Clerk, Office for Aging, Fulmont Community Action and others. Light refreshments will be served.
12:30PM 6:30PM BASSETT HOSTS BLOOD DRIVE IN COOPERSTOWN What: American Red Cross blood drive at Bassett Medical Center Where: Bassett Hall auditorium, intersection of Beaver and Pioneer Streets, Cooperstown. Details: All presenting American Red Cross donors throughout the region during the month of August will be entered in a drawing to win one of 12 Kindle Fire e-readers, courtesy of Best Buy. Register now for a donation time by calling the Clinical Laboratory office at 607-547-3701. Appointments are preferred, but walk-ins are always welcome.
