Bug Country Texaco Country Showdown

From 2:00PM to 3:30PM



22 singers compete for the $500 prize! 



The country's longest running talent search -- the 32nd annual TEXACO COUNTRY SHOWDOWN -- is Sunday, July 14, 2pm at the Silverado Inn, Marginal Road in Herkimer. The competition is open to solo performers, instrumentalists or groups.  Come hear some of the finest talent in Upstate New York!



Local celebrity judges will rate the competitors. Judges include: Assemblyman Marc Butler, Dolgeville Mayor Bruce Lyon, Fulton Chain Gang's Dave Brown, 97.9/105.5 KISS-FM's Big Poppa Gary Spears, and guiatr teacher Steve Warzala.



Public admission (non-competitors) is $6 or 2 for $10 and includes FREE food by Delectable Dishes Catering! Proceeds benefit HALO, helping Animals Live Organization and you'll have the chance to win door prizes including Zac Brown Band concert tickets at SPAC!



The Bug Country winner gets $500 and will move on to the NY State competition in September ($1,000 prize); the state winner goes to the national competition and the finals are on CMT Television, with a top prize of $100,000!!  Our local winner will also have the honor of opening our 5th annual HALO Hoedown October 5th at the Herkimer County Fairgrounds -- with SIX nationally known acts:  Billy Dean, Ty Herndon, Tim Rushlow (former lead singer of Little Texas), Jamie O'Neal, Daryle Singletary and Anita Cochran!
