GROUP HOLDS FUNDRAISING BIKE RIDE FOR LEXINGTON PR
Gloversville-- A team of friends who vacation at Peck’s Lake in Gloversville and call themselves ALFW (Aging Like Fine Wine) is holding a fundraising bicycle ride of 100 miles to benefit Kaleidoscope, a Lexington Day Program. Lexington provides programs and services to adults and children who have disabilities. The group is also riding to honor local resident Lora Johnston, and her daughter Ashley Lauria, who attends Kaleidoscope. Donations to the ride can be made by visiting the event website, www.alfwrides.com.
The route will begin at Peck’s Lake at 7:00am and travel north on Routes 10 and 8, through Caroga and Piseco into Speculator and then follow Route 30 south to Gloversville. The ride will end at about 2:00pm at Ashley’s Park, a private park located on W. Twelfth Avenue in Gloversville. Each year, AFLW takes on a physical endeavor (bicycle ride, run, etc.) to, as they put it, “beat back the aging process, but also to “have a blast along the way” and to raise money for non-profit organizations.
For more information about the ride, please contact Kevin Geraghty at email@example.com or at (617) 877-2957. For more information about Lexington’s Kaleidoscope Day Habilitation Program, please contact (518) 773-7931 or visit www.lexingtoncenter.org.
