This is your opportunity to celebrate spring as it was done in the 1840s. See a variety of historic and modern spring activities, including making spring tonics and sheep shearing. Local environmental and gardening groups will share their knowledge with you and get you started by planting historic vegetable seeds in six-packs you can take home. You can find rare varieties of ornamental and medicinal plants at our annual heritage plant sale all weekend. Our Children's Barnyard will showcase baby sheep, goats, and other animals. Step back to a time when agriculture and gardening was a way of life!

Remsen Social Club (RSC) is a band founded out of frustration. After dabbling in the local bluegrass scene and being disappointed by the lack of variety Bryan Davies decided to start a project of his own. His first call was to his brother Nicholas Burns (guitar) and his second was to lifelong friend Timothy Slusarczyk (bass). The first four months were spent shuffling through members but the core of the band remained the same. In June 2012 singer/guitarist Ben Carrier sat in on a practice session and something sparked. The name "Remsen Social Club" is a tribute to the friends they grew up with. They include a lot of original material and a type of bluegrass that will have you tapping your toes. The Birdseed Bandits consisting of Adam Ludemann, Seth Becker and Nash Robb, have a unique style and sound unlike any other. They have been called, Punk/Americana or "Punkacana" Folk/Rock, Folk/Punk, Celtic/Folk/Punk, "Foot stomping" Folk/Punk-Rock, Alternative Americana, and all other sorts of names to describe what they do. With there high energy performance, and raw acoustic sound consisting of Banjo, Acoustic guitar, Mandolin, and Upright Bass, and ringing harmonies they have cultivated a voice all their own. Proceeds from this event will help produce the 2013 annual festival at Woods Valley, July 12-14, 2013. More at www.mvbga.com and www.Facebook.com/mvbga
