FULTON COUNTY CHAMBER TO HOST STUDENT RECOGNITION BREAKFAST AT FULTON MONTGOMERY COMMUNITY COLLEGE
Gloversville-- The Fulton Montgomery Regional Chamber of Commerce announced that they will host the Student Recognition Breakfast at the Perthshire Banquet Facility, 112 Perthshire Drive in Amsterdam.
The Chamber will host over 200 Fulton and Montgomery County high school seniors, superintendents and educators while awarding six $1000 academic scholarships to local deserving teens for academic excellence at this event. Gold Sponsorship for this event is provided by St. Mary’s Healthcare, Fulton County Federal Credit Union, and Walmart DC #6096. Underwriting for Johnstown High School student attendance is provided by McDonald’s of Johnstown. Ruggiero Realty is underwriting attendance for Gloversville students. These sponsors make it possible for the Chamber to host this important program for area high school seniors, administrators and guidance counselors free-of-charge. Please contact the Chamber if you are a Chamber business interested in underwriting your local school district for student breakfasts at this event.
The academic scholarship winners are chosen by the Chamber’s Scholarship Committee who reviews applicants’ qualifications in scholastic achievement, attendance, community involvement, school activities, economic need and a 500-word essay on what the scholarship would mean to them. Since its inception, the Chamber’s scholarship program has provided assistance to dozens of high school seniors with over $100,000 in scholarship monies. Funds for these scholarships are raised primarily through the Chamber’s annual golf tournament, which is scheduled this year for August 21.
Parents of the invited students are encouraged to attend this momentous event. Tickets for the breakfast are available to the public at a cost of $20 per person which includes hot breakfast buffet and sponsors one student breakfast.
